To volunteer means to share
our God-given talents; returning to God what He has given
to us. EVERYTHING that we have is a gift from God to SHARE
WITH EACH OTHER. We encourage people to look deep within them
and, with prayer, come to know what their specific calling
might be. So, if it would be the gift of LISTENING, they might
volunteer to be a minister of Christ in visiting the sick,
the elderly, and the alone. Or it might be in the service
of the Lord as Usher, Eucharistic Minister, Greeter, Reader,
Lector, and Handyman, WHATEVER.
The Volunteer Coordinator’s challenge is to assess the
needs in the Parish Faith Community, and offer opportunities
in which the individual members will be enabled and empowered
to offer their gifts and talents as servants to each other
for the Body of Christ.
We strive to train, teach, and educate
the members to better carry out that innate desire to "put
their gifts at the service of one another" as we journey
together toward our Eternal Home.
